RELENTLESS: Cristiano Ronaldo breaks another record with hat-trick for Portugal against Luxembourg as Joao Palhinha copies Manchester United star’s celebration and Bruno Fernandes nets too

Another day, another record broken for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portugal star netted his 58th (yes, 58th) career hat-trick in his country’s 5-0 thrashing of Luxembourg on Tuesday night.

His international record continues to grow

Following two penalties inside the opening 13 minutes, one of which had to be retaken, the Manchester United forward completed his treble with an 87th-minute header.

Already the highest goalscorer in men’s international history, Ronaldo now has the most hat-tricks with ten.

And it’s no surprise the goals came against Luxembourg, who are one of the 36-year-old’s favourite victims.

And Ronaldo got another tribute celebration

That’s now nine goals against them, more than any other country he’s faced.

Just like at Old Trafford, it’s not all about Ronaldo, as his Red Devils teammate Bruno Fernandes also got himself on the scoresheet by netting Portugal’s third.

But like Everton forward Andros Townsend proved with his celebration Against United two weeks ago – even when it’s not Ronaldo scoring, sometimes it is still all about him.

Bruno Fernandes also got in on the act

Joao Palhinha netted Portugal’s fourth and copied Ronaldo’s iconic ‘SIUUU’ jump, although we reckon he probably enjoyed this one slightly more than Townsend.
